Job Title: Middle School Science Teacher
Location: Holy Trinity Catholic Schools – Fort Madison, Iowa
Reports To: Building Principal
Employment Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Contract
Position Summary
Holy Trinity Catholic Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our faith-filled educational community. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and engage students in hands-on learning while integrating Catholic values into daily instruction. This teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering science curriculum to middle school students in grades 6–8.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, standards-based science lessons aligned with Iowa Core and diocesan curriculum guidelines
- Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student learning and spiritual growth
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including hands-on experiments, technology integration, and collaborative learning
- Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments
- Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and staff to support school initiatives
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values across the curriculum
- Supervise students in and outside the classroom as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field (required)
- Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate endorsement (preferred)
- Experience teaching middle school students (preferred)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to incorporate technology effectively into instruction
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
- Willingness to be an active member of the school community
