POSITION SUMMARY:
Oversee Business Office operations of Regina Catholic schools. Develop and monitor control systems to preserve school assets and report financial results. Initiate and manage special projects to enhance school operations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures: Ensure internal controls, compliance with GAAP, donor restrictions, and other regulations.
- Drive financial reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, develop annual budget, monitor budget variances, and report financial results to the Finance Committee and Board of Education.
- Facilitate governance of the Regina Board of Education Finance Committee and work collaboratively with the Finance Chair including monitoring profitability metrics.
- Manage cash flow and debt: Reconcile accounts, manage parish subsidies, monitor debt levels, and oversee cash reserves to preserve and build capital.
- Supervise financial operations: Oversee accounts payable, payroll, benefits, employee contracts, and insurance.
- Ensure the fundamental facilities and services necessary for the school to function are maintained, drive sustainability, support teaching and learning excellence, assist expansion and support community engagement.
- Ensure regulatory compliance: File government and Diocesan reports, and manage insurance aspects of facility rentals.
Collaboration and Budget Management:
- Work with departments to acquire accurate data for budgeting and financial statements.
- Collaborate with Regina Foundation and school service groups.
- Develop and manage budgets: Oversee the budget process, including capital expenditures, and report significant variances.
- Oversee tuition and financial aid: Administer the tuition schedule and collections, manage the state Education Savings Accounts (ESA) process, oversee Student Tuition Organization (STO) funding, and collaborate with parishes to ensure funding of subsidies.
- Initiate, manage or collaborate with special projects to enhance school operations
- Communicate and cooperate with external Auditors as needed.

Qualifications
- An understanding of and commitment to Regina mission, values, goals, and strategies
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting or finance with at least 5 years of related experience.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and business analysis
- Knowledge and experience in 501(c)3 accounting, tax and finances, tuition programs, payroll, property tax, 990 filings, and capital project management
- Functional knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and QuickBooks.
- Compliance with all Regina and Diocese of Davenport policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and professional manner and appearance
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to set priorities
- Highest standards of integrity, work ethic and attention to detail.

- Work collaboratively with the leadership team, supervise business office staff
